Combining dissimilarity matrices

This idea comes from a great paper I read about using floristics, function and pyhlogeny to delimit biomes in Brazil (Cardoso et al. 2021).

We can use different metrics and turn them into dissimilarity matrices and then simply average them to obtain a consensus.
